Pete Thomas, Steve Nieve and I have worked together for almost 40 years in The Attractions. Then we went out on the road and we, of course, had played songs that I had since the beginning of my career. It was a record I started recording on my own, then realized I needed some help with a rhythm section with humans in it, because up until then I was making it with some cranky old beat box. Honestly, the starting point was a record called "When I Was Cruel," which the band came together during the recording of that. Soġ6 years since we’ve played together on and off. Well I think it's one supporting another, I knew absolutely I wanted this to be a record that The Imposters got to show a little bit of everything they can do, rather than just one narrow idea of what a four-piece band could be.I mean, we’ve had the pleasure of playing together since 2002.
